Once again, no rush to get up so a leisurely day other than getting up to date with the blog. Nothing much to photograph either. Many people were preparing for the next seven days as with a port a day, it gets busy and can be tiring, so pacing yourself is very important. We generally mix longer tour days and shorter walk off and walk back on again days.
Neither morning nor afternoon trivia brought in prizes.
We stayed on in the Vista for British comedian, Al Brown. He didn’t have us in stitches like Ivor Richards or David Copperfield, but he was better than Jim Dailakas… No better than a 6/10 I’m afraid.
Table 7 opted to skip the formal night for the pizzeria and as you can’t book, squeezing 10 of us in meant diving in a bit before 7pm to shove a couple of tables together. As with everywhere on the Dawn, there is no charge other than for the Sterling Steakhouse, so we stated off with 4 plates of anti pasto and pizza bread and as we had eaten there before, I knew that the items on the pasta menu were not really a main size, more of a generous starter, so, I opted for the crepes filled with spinach and with a cheese sauce, before the pizza. No restriction here as to the number of toppings. Very nice too.
Like the steakhouse, desserts are somewhat limited, with just two choices, tiramisu and an apricot tart but as I rarely eat dessert anyway, no big deal.
That is it for the day. Probably not the most of exciting days for you to read about, but hey, there should be pics galore for the next few days – or you could click on the links to the other two blogs over on the right, from Jo and from Ros!
PS: Oh, Jo got her black card yesterday, so we presented her with a kiwi lanyard - and we had the All Black Haka doll on the table…
